DETAILS: Constable Styles pulled over a 2005 Dodge Caravan with four occupants at a traffic stop on Highway 48 just south of Herald Road in the Town of East Gwillimbury. While at the side of the car investigating the driver, the vehicle accelerated and dragged Constable Styles approximately 300 metres before the vehicle lost control and rolled over, pinning him beneath it. He was rushed to Southlake Regional Health Centre by York Region EMS where he succumbed to his injuries.

DETAILS: Constable Plunkett was killed while attempting to make an arrest during a criminal investigation involving a man allegedly stealing a car for the possession of airbags. As Cst. Plunkett approached the vehicle, the man began accelerating in reverse, striking the police officer and pinning him between the open car door and a tree.

October 9th, 1984

DETAILS: At 0011 hours October 9, 1984 Constable Grant observed a vehicle being operated dangerously and gave pursuit. The pursued vehicle quickly outdistanced the officer's and under the cover of fog reversed his direction and headed back towards the officer. As the driver approached the officer, he swerved sharply crashing into Grant's vehicle killing him instantly.

DETAILS: At 2208 hours, August 19, 1984 Constable Tribbling responded to a burglar alarm at a business premise in Markham. He was found moments later by fellow officers in the building on the floor with multiple bullet wounds in his chest. He died in hospital August 21.
